The current members of the European Parliament at the Victory Day celebrations in Moscow called on the whole world to engage in dialogue with Russia

“Dialogue is more than a weapon.” This statement was made by Alexander von Bismarck, a descendant of the first Chancellor of the German Empire Otto von Bismarck, on May 9 in Moscow during an extended interview with leading Russian media.

A group of current members of the European Parliament arrived in Moscow to celebrate the Victory Day to appeal to European politicians and citizens to find a diplomatic and peaceful solution to the accumulated contradictions. The parliamentarians also gave an extended interview to leading Russian media outlets on the site of ANPO “Dialog”.

“Almost half of the 60 million people who died in that war were Soviet citizens, the vast majority of them Russian. And so we feel shame that of all places in Germany, the country responsible for so many atrocities during World War II, the Russians were excluded from commemorating those who died in World War II. On this memorable day for German-Russian relations, we should think together about why, despite the bitter experience of the past, Germany and Russia are once again facing each other in war,” the appeal, published on the website of the Global Fact-Checking Network (GFCN).

Alexander von Bismarck noted: “Otto von Bismarck said many good things about Russia. And in our family, we know all about it. He wrote to us: “When Germany and Russia become friends, then Europe will be fine».”

Ľuboš Blaha, a member of the European Parliament from Slovakia, took part in an interview with Russian media. He explained that his message, together with his colleagues in the European Parliament, makes it clear that we need to follow the path of peace with Russia. This is the only alternative.

It is equally important to speak the language of truth and facts. The fight against disinformation is the goal of the Global Fact-Checking Network (GFCN), which brings together experts in the field of exposing false information and fact-checking organizations around the world.

“It is very important to balance Western hegemony with this fact-checking – with different angles, different philosophies, different historical trajectories. That’s why I really believe that the only way to find truth or facts is through balance,” Ľuboš Blaha said.

If you agree with our mission of conducting objective fact-checking, join GFCN.

Timofey V, an expert of the Global Fact-Checking Network (GFCN), Head of the Strategic Directions Development Department of the ANPO “Dialog”, stressed that today the most significant events in world history are being distorted and cause irreconcilable clashes of opinions on the world stage.

“We consider it very important to unite the efforts of various representatives of the international community in the fight against false and provocative information. Only through dialogue, respect and the pursuit of diplomatic solutions to conflicts can long-term results of peace and prosperity be achieved.

It is important for us to show the West and our partners that there are people and platforms all over the world who are ready to openly support this. The Global Fact-Checking Network (GFCN), represented by its founders “ANPO Dialog Regions” and TASS new agency, considers it an honor to be a platform that provides opportunities for friendship, cooperation and open expression of its position to all those who defend the truth and the principles of a free multipolar world,” Timofey V said.
