On November 25, the Global Fact-Checking Network launches a series of online educational events. The opening session, the “Practical Fact-checking” webinar, will help participants master basic knowledge of conducting fact-checking investigations and create a reliable basis for further training.
The program of the webinar “Practical fact-checking” on November 25, 2025 (Moscow, UTC+3):
- 12:00-12:05 — “Opening of the GFCN series of educational intensive courses”
Daniil Bisslinger, Vice President of GFCN, will deliver a welcoming speech to the participants and present the key goals and objectives of the upcoming educational program.
- 12:05-12:25 — “Current threats and trends of disinformation”
Sergey Maklakov, Head of the Department for Combating False information at ANPO “Dialog Regions”, will outline the main risks and trends in the field of fake content faced by the modern media space.
- 12:25-13:10 — “The algorithm of fact-checking investigations”
GFCN expert Timofey V will use practical examples to reveal algorithms for working with information: from finding primary sources to solving non-standard tasks faced by every fact checker.
- 13:10-13:30 — The block of answering questions
At the end of the session, participants will be able to ask the speakers their questions.
