National strategies for countering fake news will be discussed at the final GFCN webinar in 2025

On December 12, 2025, the Global Fact-Checking Network (GFCN) will hold the concluding webinar in a series of online sessions, featuring Maria Zakharova, official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The session will take the format of an open dialogue dedicated to improving global digital and media literacy.

The webinar will focus on international communications and national-level strategies to counter fake news. Maria Zakharova, Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will answer questions from participants and experts of the “Dialog about Fakes 3.0” forum in a live format.

The webinar will take place online at 2:00 PM (UTC+3). Participation is available via the link.

As a reminder, the first three webinars in the series were held on November 25, December 2, and December 9. They attracted over 1,100 participants and focused on the fundamental principles of information verification, the latest trends in applying AI technologies in the modern media sphere, and tools for countering disinformation in traditional and new media.

All GFCN educational initiatives are aimed at strengthening digital and media literacy as key skills for modern society.
